for everyone

Ok you all Christopher is on summer vacation and is so bored all ready, today he gave me a lesson in crawdad and guppy hunting begging me to go so I grabbed a jar and off we went a couple blocks over to a neighbors yard where he has a small brook running through his yard to hunt under his bridge, mud squished up between our toes me holding him so he didn't fall in so he can go far under the bridge and flip rocks ….I’m not digging my hands down in that yucky muddy water no way, he done all the dirty work, here is Christopher’s 101 on  crawdads and he says they are white also there is rare ones, they have red bellies, and some have whiskers, and some don’t and the guppies are black and they swim and have tails shaped like fish,  and crawdads swim like the guppies…lol so this is how we spent our afternoon it was so much fun just watching him just flip them rocks and look and of course talking my head off,  and of course mom forgot the camera but I did get a picture when we got home he has 1 crawdad in his jar  and is so proud of it he cant wait to show daddy when he gets home...It's so amazing what you can learn from a 6 year old

You are a wonderful Mommy Janie. He is old enough now, that he will remember this forever... :-) What a gift for you both...

I am sure you mean polly wogs as guppies are fish and should therefore have fish tails. This is me at eight or nine, but I was after crayfish, just a smaller crawdad (or maybe its canadian cousin) Nie to see a mommy so into her little boy.

We had some debate over Crawdad -vs- Crayfish and tadpoles -vs- minnows -vs- guppies. In the end the little boy's terminology was used. No fish was caught this time so identification will have to wait.

sounds like a good day to me. Reminds me of times we used to go to the creek down from the house...play for hours....mom, would step out the back door and yell for us to come for supper.

This Mom hollers out the back door too....

hollering mom out the back door is the best mom a boy could have...

that is just the eaasiest way to get them home fast with out having to leave the yard. I did that while on the farm when I got first married. He heard me half way back on the field. Did what was needed when needed.
